Aveiro, Portugal

I got this postcard from Maria through the NDC RR Group 120 (symbols on your country's flag). She writes that this card shows some views from Aveiro, called the Portuguese Venice because of several canals crossing the city.

Aveiro was originally known as "Aviarium" meaning a preserve for birds

Real Train Stories

Fast and cheap are how people might describe travelling through the railway. One can get from end to end, give or take 30 minutes. And in that half hour, anything can happen. People take the train to get to somewhere. Some people take the train to get to somewhere fast so they do crazy stuff because they do not tolerate tardiness.

So they push people. Shove people. Race for seats. Yell. Shout. Get harassed. Scold. Berate. Talk to strangers. Make new friends. You get the picture. It's a crazy mode of transportation, the train. And my friends have convinced me to compile my real train stories just because I have too much of them.
